Q & A
How God led to Taiwan
Scott: First, through Asian students I met while
in college... then, through a visit to Taiwan where we witnessed
the idolotry and heard the Taiwanese Christians asking us to come
back and help.
Angie: See Scott's answer PLUS... I was very
resistant at first, not wanting to leave family, but through
Scott's prayer for and patience with me, I quit running from what
I know God wanted of me. When I saw people worshipping idols in
the temple here, my heart was broken and I knew we MUST come
back and share Jesus' love, grace and freedom with these precious people.
Thoughts when first meeting each other
Scott: That girl's boyfriend is kinda big, but I
think I'm faster.
Angie: Man...too bad I have a boyfriend.
Favorite worship song
Scott: Something by Parachute Band, I'm gonna say
"I Fall Down" right now... but I might have to get back to you
Angie: Amazing Love (I'm forgiven, because you were forsaken....)
Most difficult adjustment in Taiwan
Scott: so much rain... I am such a wimp. Oh well.
Angie: Not having a yard....so much air and noise pollution
Most enjoyable thing in Taiwan (not ministry related!)
Scott: Can go to the beach and mountains in the same day.
Not that we ever actually get to do that!
Angie: It's beautiful....when you get out of the city!
Favorite scripture
Scott: Rom 3:21-22 But now a righteousness from God,
apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the
Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith
in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
Angie: John 14:1-3 Do not let your hearts be
troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are
many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going
there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also
may be where I am.
Gadget that can't live without
Scott: notebook computer
Angie: kitchen scissors
Desired talent
Scott: Quilting. I am serious.
Angie: I'd love to be able to play piano well
(But evidently not enough to spend the required time practicing!!!)
Favorite Chinese food
Scott: Noodles... far and away.
Angie: VERY hard decision, but I'll go with a
delicious Pineapple/Shrimp dish
Most craved home country food
Scott: Is Dr. Pepper a food?
Angie: Taco Bell
Nicest ministry memory
Scott: Watching 1st generation Taiwanese Christians
baptizing their sons and daughters into Christ Jesus.
Angie: Our first year in Taiwan, I met a sister with
cerebral palsy who lives with her elderly,
Buddhist parents and had no one to bring her to church. We started
bringing her to church each Sunday and visiting her family regularly.
In the following years, several believers have become
interested in helping her family in many ways: bringing her to church,
working on her computer, sharing Jesus with her parents, providing
help when needed, etc. This is Christ's body at work.
Exercise program
Scott: Walking up 11 flights of stairs when the
elevator is being fixed.
Angie: walking/riding my bike all over Yung Ho as I
run errands or take kids to the park

children photographed by complete strangers!
