We’ve finally done it. We started a blog… and we have high hopes! We also have a new baby so we may see those hopes spiral down the drain

Let us take a few moments to give you some information about this blog… why we have it… and how we hope to use it:

THE PURPOSE OF THIS BLOG IS TO SHARE INFO ABOUT:

• CHURCH PLANTING IN TAIWAN
• LIFE IN TAIWAN FROM AN EXPAT’S PERSPECTIVE
• OUR FAMILY

Why we have it…

• Newletters capture certain aspects of a ministry. We will continue with our newsletters, but we think this weblog will give us a better outlet for sharing the day to day events in our ministry and in our family.
• Mr. SQJ enjoys writing… but often finds the monthly newsletter difficult to prepare because there is always far more information to share than we can really put in a newsletter! So… this will give him a chance to share more often and not have to worry about space.

How we hope to use it…

• We hope to post daily… but it really depends on what happens during our day. It doesn’t take long to post, but we don’t want to waste your time…
• … but it is certain that you won’t find that every post will change your life! This form of communication allows us to share any aspect of ministry and some will find a post exciting and some will not… no prob… just check back for a while… leave some comments… give us a chance to get going. I think the 3 posts (besides this post) I am starting with will give you a pretty good idea of stuff we hope to write about.
• Currently, we do not have the ability to use categories for our posts. We hope to implement them in the near future. This will allow you to easily view posts about things which interest you (i.e. homeschooling, living in Taiwan, Taiwan Christian Church, etc)
• This blog is a companion to our website. We will use the blog to point out updated information and pictures on the website. Depending on how this blog goes (or doesn’t go!) we might make it more prominent.
• Mr. SQJ will probably post most of the time, but be on the lookout for Mrs. SQJ to make an appearance. When she gets up enough courage to approach the computer… it starts acting weird… it would run away from her if it could! You can tell who wrote each post from a tag at the bottom of the post.

Rules/Guidelines/Other Info

• We welcome your comments so we have them enabled. We will shut them off if we run into problems with spam or bad language.
• Feel free to email us. If you wish to contact us about something related to a blog entry, please use the email address above. We plan to use it exclusively for things related to the blog.
• We are currently +14 hours from Central Standard Time… and I think the time of each post is recorded at our time… just so you know… we are not actually living in the future! In fact… more often than not… we feel like we are 14 hours behind!

Well… we will just let it go at that…
