The biggest focus of our time in Taiwan has been spent with the Taiwan Christian Church which meets in Yung Ho City, a suburb of Taipei. We will probably write about this community of believers quite a bit on this blog.
The Sunday AM worship service has been at 9:30 for as long as I can remember.
It is moving to 10AM starting this week.
Why? 2 reasons which are a cause to celebrate!
- A new cell will begin meeting before the service.
- A new youth worship team will start meeting before the service to practice.
At least… that’s what I think the reasons are. It isn’t that I couldn’t find out… but the point is… that the missionaries here didn’t make the change. We are involved, sure… but we didn’t cause this to happen… rather, it was the Taiwanese believers and leaders.
It is very pleasing to know decisions are being made (and they are GOOD decisions) and to realize that we are “out of the loop”. Actually… it is pleasing, but also somewhat difficult because we realize that the day is coming when we will pull out of this particular church plant.
I will post more details later about what it means to “pull out”, but we can be sure that it does not mean that we will leave all of our relationships behind and do something else… Quite the opposite, in fact! We plan to pull out of the “day to day” and “week to week” responsibilities with the TCC-Yung Ho and work with the Taiwanese believers as PARTNERS with the goal of establishing a Church Planting Movement in Taiwan.
By God’s grace we do His work in His kingdom.
