Good to eat, that is.
I almost had the chance to eat 3 full slabs today.

For a little Valentine’s Day treat… Mimi (what the kids call Mrs. SQJ’s mom, who is here for a couple weeks) watched the 3 older kids so Mrs. and I (and Mollie-Dollie) could go out for lunch. We chose TGIFridays in Ximending.

As soon as I saw the special was RIBS… I didn’t even look at the menu… I just ordered the ribs… a full slab… about 12 inches long at least… with the spiciest sauce.

About 10 minutes later… a server stops by our table and drops off a bowl of soup for Mrs.
About 5 minutes after that… another server brings two 1/2 slabs of ribs… with the sissy-fied citrus/garlic sauce on one and another sauce on the other. I pondered this a bit… and don’t tell anyone, but Mrs. SQJ actually snaggled some onions off the top and chowed ‘em down… but we finally called the waiter who took our order and asked about the ribs….. and why our appetizer had not yet appeared… and he took the ribs away.

About 10 minutes after that, yet another server drops by with the correct order for ribs… PLUS a second bowl of soup for Angie… what??? Thanks for the ribs… please take back the soup… oh… and the appetizer?

About 5 minutes after that, Angie gets her chicken tender BLT… but no appetizer… and shortly after… another servers brings us a big full slab of ribs…. yes… the 3rd slab of ribs to appear at our table. Hmm…. no appetizer.

Finally… Tall Guy (our waiter) comes and tells us that it is too late to get the appetizer we ordered. Really? OK… we’ll have the Bruschetta instead of the Tex-Mex Tower. By this time, we are done with our other food… so… we wait for the Bruschetta… eat it… grab the crayons they brought for Mollie (15 days old) to COLOR WITH… pay the bill… leave.

The food was great and the servers were very nice… very polite… but something was lost in the translation somewhere…. which happens a lot here. All in all… a very nice time and a very nice memory. I was with the 2 most beautiful girls in the place!
