… we will make piles.
We will make them by the door.
We will pile more and more.
We will make our piles high.
We see them now and start to cry,
“Why do we make these piles here?”
“When will we learn to keep things clear?”
We think again this is our last…
Our piling ways are in the past!
“We will not make them on the chair.”
“We will not make them anywhere!”
“What’s that you say, my wife so fair?”
“Some papers? Oh… just put them… there…”
Do you do this? I think it is ridiculous, but we still do it. Every time we clean up our existing piles… we vow to NEVER let this happen again… but as a dog returns to its vomit… so do we return to our piles. Well… I guess it isn’t really the same… but isn’t it interesting how we form habits and then live by them?
Fortunately, this is true for GOOD habits as well!
As I am up late tonight sorting through piles… I will pray not only for the strength to break this BAD habit… but for the wisdom and discipline it will take to create new (GOOD) habits in this and in every area of life.
