Church Planting Resources - #1

December 17th, 2005 · 2 Comments

This is the first resource I’ll share with you out of the four I mention in the original post HERE.

CHURCH PLANTING MOVEMENTS - David Garrison
This booklet answers such questions as: “What is a Church Planting Movement?” and “What are the 10 universal elements and common factors in a Church Planting Movement?” With several examples of CPMs from around the world… and pictures… charts… graphs… lists… a glossary… and an FAQ… it is required reading for those of us in the KISS program of church planting. It defines the terms… identifies common elements… and gets us on the right track. This small booklet I refer to has now been expanded (greatly!) and is available as a 350+ page book. I haven’t gotten my hands on that yet, but this little booklet works well for me and will for you, too.

God has shown us that He is indeed doing something in our days among the peoples of the earth—something so amazing we would not have believed it had we not seen it with our own eyes (see Habakkuk. 1:5). We are calling this amazing thing Church Planting Movements. Church Planting Movements are not limited to a geographical or racial sector of society. God has demonstrated that He can produce them among urban or rural, educated or illiterate people on any continent and from any religious background. The universal link in each of them is God reconciling the world to Himself through Christ Jesus.

Do you have the book “Church Planting Movements” that Garrison wrote a couple of years after the booklet? It goes into much greater detail.

Sorry, after finishing the first paragraph I see that you indeed do not have the book. Give me your address and I will see if I can send you a copy.
