Last.fm Charts

December 19th, 2005 · 1 Comment

Last.fm is a FREE service which tracks music you play on your computer and produces charts of what you played… as well as comparing what you listen to with other people and making suggestions of new artists. There is also the opportunity to interact with other Last.fm users on the website although I don’t get into that myself. I’ve used it for a while… 3 months?… now and find it worth a recomendation.

You can find my Last.fm profile HERE

I also added my weekly charts in the sidebar. I told you I was planning on listening to some Sinatra… ended up on top last week by a large margin.

I use both the Windows Media Player and Winamp and the plugins from Last.fm to track music played on those 2 players work without any problems. All the major players are supported. In case you were wondering… if you play music while on the internet, the plug-ins will upload the data as you play music. If you are not online, it keeps the data in a queue and sends it when you connect to the internet.

If you play a lot of music on your computer and you like to learn of new artists without totally guessing… the community at Last.fm might be fun for you. You did notice it is FREE right?
