Jen-Jen is one of our church members… but actually that doesn’t really introduce her well enough. If I said, “This congregation wouldn’t exist without Jen-Jen” I doubt anyone who knows the work here would disagree. She is the youngest of 5 children and the only daughter. She is the only Christian in her family. Her parents are both over 80 and her dad has suffered multiple strokes. We have prayed for Jian Baba(Daddy) and Mama for years, but had only visited once until Saturday. We worked with Jen-Jen to set up a time Saturday AM for our family to go and visit. This picture of Jen-Jen’s mother with Mollie is quite remarkable. Mrs. Jian is extremely superstitious (not uncommon here) and believes that if elderly people have their pictures taken it will take time off of their life.

Jen-Jen has already told us several very positive results of our visit. Here’s two…
- Her mom said she couldn’t believe how we just kept smiling the whole time we were at their house.
- Her mom also remarked about how well-behaved our children were during the visit.
Is it possible that allowing the joy of Christ to shine on our faces and following biblical guidelines for parenting could help lead a person to Christ? I KNOW it is possible… and we pray for more precious opportunities like this.
