I can’t really explain the reason for all the tech-related posts lately… but today I’ve been in front of the computer almost all day… emailing… filing… many things… and in the middle of it I upgrated to the freshly released Thunderbird 1.5 mail client.
If you use MS Outlook and you use the tasks and the calendar and all that other stuff… just disregard this… there isn’t an MS Outlook replacement if you use all that stuff. But… if you use Outlook or even Outlook Express for email… it’s probably worth your time to download and install Thunderbird.
Not only will you get a POWERFUL email client… you can install themes for it… add functionality through extensions (just installing the features you want!)… and you’ll be a part of the REVOLUTION! OK… just kidding about that last part…
Just click the bird above… or the link below… to get started.

I’m not sure what exactly your trouble is… if it is importing tasks or calendar stuff… TB won’t do that stuff… it is just email…..
But if you are having trouble importing from Outlook, you aren’t alone. The most annoying thing about Outlook is its proprietary data file (*.pst). Thunderbird can’t read PST files but Outlook Express can… so you can import the mail into Outlook Express… and then TB can read the data from Outlook Express… they all store data differently.
Maybe this will help.
