Caring4Mark - “Incurable, but not untreatable”

On January 20th, we received an urgent prayer need… Mark Trotter is a fellow Team Expansion missionary who was planning to move to Asia very soon. His wife is Lyla and they have 9 children. They were in Colorado Springs for some training at MTI when severe headaches became too intense for Mark to bear. They took him to the hospital and discovered a very serious brain tumor… not that there are any brain tumors that are not serious.

The tumor is quite advanced and makes removal by surgery impossible… therefore it is “incurable”. However… the tumor is not “untreatable”… meaning they will begin drug and radiation treatments soon. He will have surgery to remove some of the mass of the tumor and relieve some of the pressure that is causing so much pain.

While I’ve not met this family… I do know many from their church (First Christian in Grandview) and my good friend Mike Worstell was instumental in the Trotter family’s decision to sell their dental practice and move to Asia… so we are connected in some ways and now you are as well.

I’ll direct you to the blog below (and above) which will give you more info than I can share and will be updated regularly I think. Please read it all and be in prayer.
