Here’s a great post by Jon from over at the East Asian Missions Blog.
East Asian Missions Blog: Coffee, Butterflys, Mac Computers, and Diving
Jon shares about a new Taiwanese friend of his, Quincy, and posts some great insights into a couple areas of our work here in Taiwan…
- Accurate and readable translations of the Bible
- The importance of language acquisition
I agree totally with Jon’s conclusions… and I’ll drop a couple of resources here that might be helpful to anyone here….
- The Campus Bookstore has a GREAT Chinese/English New Testament using the Chinese New Translation and the NIV. NT$200. I just wish it has Psalms and Proverbs too.
- Here’s the website with the Chinese New Translation. LINK —> HERE
- Here’s a link to a nice free program that is helpful for learning to read Chinese. It is called DIMSUM. LINK —> HERE
Here’s the link to Jon’s post again… give it a click and then bookmark his blog.
