DISCERNMENT
Philippians 1:9-11
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ–to the glory and praise of God.
These verses tell us that Paul prayed that his friends would be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ…. We, along with our co-workers, are charged with major decisions on a regular basis. We must decide between truth and error. We must often make these decisions without all the information in a culture far different from our homeland. Sometimes we must rely on unreliable people. This calls for a wisdom far beyond our own. Please ask the Lord to make us all smarter than we are and wiser than we are. It is biblical to request this.
Thanks again to Mike Bowers for the basis of this post.
