I just changed from Blogger to WordPress… wow… wish I woulda done this long ago! WordPress is going to be great, but I’m still learning how to set it up and use it. Let me tell you a few things about this new setup…

1. The blog is at a different URL than the old one. Maybe I should have found a way to install it in the same place? However… the old url is redirected here… so should be good enough.
2. THEME - this will be changed once I find one I like or find one I’d like to adapt. Is the font too small on this one? I like 2 columns… but some people like 3… which do you prefer?
3. Any LINKS I made to other posts in the old version will need to be updated… so… until I get that done… the links might not work or will redirect you back to this main page.
4. We’ve got CATEGORIES!!! This is something I’ve wanted from the beginning and I hope they help YOU get more of the info you want and need. If you don’t care about my family, but want to read about church planting… click on church planting… easy. It will take me some time to go back and put the old posts into categories.
5. BLOGROLL - Now has many categories… some blogs fit into more than one… so I just picked the cats that seemed best.
6. RSS - I’ll need to redirect the old ones but I think the RSS link on the top right will work for you. I’ll post about RSS and subsctiptions later. If you like reading the blog, you should be using RSS to do so.
7. COMMNENTS - I liked how Blogger handled the comments. I think I’ll like how WordPress will handle them… but need you to comment and let me see how it goes. Right now, I have it set up to moderate the first comment from someone and then subsequent comments are unmoderated. We’ll see how it goes. Please… I really need you to leave comments for this post so I can see how it works.
8. I’ll try to add some of the things from the other version soon: lastFM charts, # of visits, ??? what else? I don’t know… remind me in a comment, eh?
