耶穌愛我知道,因為聖經告訴我,
所有小孩主牧養,我雖軟弱主強壯。
主耶穌愛我,主耶穌愛我,
主耶穌愛我 ,有聖經告訴我。
Before we sang these words to Grandma and Grandpa, we told her, “Even though we are singing Chinese words, we think you’ll know the meaning.”
Sure enough she did…
When we finished singing… she smiled and said, “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so…”
If you don’t know about my grandma’s situation, please read this post.
What a beautiful visit we had with grandma and grandpa. Thanks for your prayers and your love and concern.
She was moved to a nursing home in Marshalltown on Friday and so she and grandpa are getting used to that. Hospice comes every day I think and they have been great. Grandpa wasn’t so sure about hospice… but now sees how helpful it will be and is grateful. He is currently driving from Tama (about 1/2 hour) every day and trying to go on with life and is really doing quite well. I’m sure their apartment seems empty to him. He is a good man and this is so hard.
We sang a couple songs in Chinese… and we sang “Nothing but the Blood” and another hymn (I can’t remember right now). She was so thankful.
She is in pain, but is managing well. The hardest thing for her is that she couldn’t “fuss” over us. She wants to make cookies for us… she wants to make minute steaks for us… she wants to turn down the sheets for us…. and she is so sad that she cannot. She is a giving woman and a gracious and hospitable servant. The cancer is taking away the thing she loves most.
She really liked the lilacs we brought from mom and dad’s house. So did all the other residents! Our 4 kids were also a big hit with grandma and grandpa and the staff and the residents…… and the visitors… etc.
I’ll keep you posted.
