How to Pray for a Missionary - #5

STAND FIRM

Colossians 4:12

Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

Let’s join Epaphras who wrestled in prayer for his friends praying that they would stand firm in all the will of God, and be complete and fully assured.

God called us (Scott & Angie) to Taiwan… and he has called many missionaries to the countries where they serve today. He has a work for missionaries to complete where they serve. It will take a high level of maturity to stick with it. Missionaries need to be fully assured that God is in this. Missionaries must be faithful in prayer themselves so they will know the “good, pleasing, and perfect” will of God.

Thanks again to Mike Bowers for the basis of this post.

Scott, I’m a late commenter to this post as I was just referred to it by Josh, but wanted to tell you that Epaphras is the name I use for my prayer support network. I found that verse several years ago and love the image of someone wrestling in prayer and never giving up. All missionaries need that. And we need more to step up and fill that gap for us.
