One is not idle because one is absorbed. There is both visible and invisible labor. To contemplate is to toil, to think is to do. The crossed arms work, the clasped hands act. The eyes upturned to Heaven are an act of Creation.
Victor Hugo
(1802-1885, French poet, dramatist, novelist)
I wonder what else I have in common with Victor Hugo. I, too, struggle with the pressures from others (that may or may not always be real) to DO MORE. There are times when I am fatigued from a day (8+ hours) of intercessory prayer, but feel like I should have more to show for my “work”.
I really… REALLY… like this quote and I think that if people who know me read it… and found a way to agree with it… it would help them understand me.
