We did pretty well on the first day. We arrived at 5:30AM and the best thing to do is stay up until bedtime… but only Bethanie and I were able to do that. Angie did great with only a 20 minute nap. Josh was in bad shape and Mollie was too to a degree. Zach [...]

Consider my servant Job
September 25th, 2006 · No Comments
The entire book of Job is a wonder to me. In some respects it seems to be evidence that the Bible is real… and accurate… because if you were making up a religion (as some claim) and if you were making up a God (as some claim) why would it look anything like what we [...]

Who Got Peanut Butter on My Daily Planner?
September 21st, 2006 · No Comments
That is the wonderfully humorous title of a great new book by Angie’s sister, Cindy Sigler Dagnan.
After getting to spend a fair amount of time with Cindy’s family while back in the USA, we can report to you that the title of the book is most likely borne out of what is probably a regular [...]

It isn’t fair
September 21st, 2006 · No Comments
This is one of the phrases that parents hear most often… especially if they have a few kids.
I used to consider this plea… it used to give me pause… I used to search the depths of my mind to try to remember which kid got to do what activity with whom and for how long [...]

Blogs fit for a King… or 2
September 20th, 2006 · 1 Comment
Our friends Darrin and Chrissy King are missionaries to Costa Rica and they’ve always excelled at “telling it like it is” on the mission field.

That’s what my brother-in-law’s Glock 22 said to me the other day… and I was happy to oblige.
My family was the fishing/canoeing/camping type… but we were never the hunting type. I’ve only fired a gun on 4 occasions… the 2 times I’ve gone to the shooting range with my brother-in-law… once at scout camp… and [...]

2006 NACC revisited

Back in June and July I blogged about the North American Christian Convention (NACC). I still believe that it will be remembered as one of the beginning steps of a great movement towards unity.

5 Disciples - finally
September 15th, 2006 · No Comments
I recently received some pictures that I’ve been asking to have sent for a long time! FINALLY!
Back in June, 5 young people from our church in Taiwan chose to become disciples of Jesus! Sorry it has taken me so long to share the pictures with you. Each of these young disciples are 2nd generation Christians.
