We did pretty well on the first day. We arrived at 5:30AM and the best thing to do is stay up until bedtime… but only Bethanie and I were able to do that. Angie did great with only a 20 minute nap. Josh was in bad shape and Mollie was too to a degree. Zach was tired but persevered.
We looked at 3 apartments. A definite no and 2 probable nos.
We are leaving shortly to go look at another apartment and then go check out the van I’ve been mentioning. We’re getting some strong indications that VWs cost a lot to fix… but for the money we have to spend, I’m not sure we have any better option. It is also likely that we won’t own the vehicle more than a few years so perhaps it will all work out OK. We pray so and invite you to pray, too.
B, Z, and J woke up at about 3AM today and sang and talked quietly until about 5AM.
It has been fun seeing old friends and checking out the area where we’ll be living. Our temporary place is fine for a few days, but we can tell it is pretty important to find a long term solution ASAP even if we have to settle regarding some things we’d otherwise like to have.

Welcome home guys! I’m so glad to hear you made it safely. I can imagine you’re little ones talking in the morning, thank to the wonderful monitors. =) They’re beautiful kids! Please say hi to them all for me.
