Real Live Preacher – How to Read the Bible

January 12th, 2007 · 2 Comments

I’ve got a blog bookmarked that I’m never sure how to share with you.

I’ve *never* linked to the blog because of some things I’m worried you might see there… now I’m making it exciting and that isn’t my intention… but the fact is that this particular blogger… Real Live Preacher… has been really helpful to me in the past. Probably more than any other person regarding some aspects of my life.

Sounds like I’d like to tell the world, right? But the thing about this preacher is that he’s maybe too “real” and too “real-live” for most peoples taste? He doesn’t always talk the way I’d like… and yet I “get” it. Most people have an idea of what a pastor should be like and I think most people would want their pastor to not be quite so “real live”. But I want it as “real live” as possible… so I dig it… and I like him. That’s that.

I’m gonna start by linking a few videos that he has made recently… about reading the Bible. I think they are great. I think these could only be helpful. I think that if I had a personality… my videos would come out like this… unfortunately… I have the personality of a dry log… so it would be stupid for me to make something like this probably. Who knows how God will use us though, huh?

They are all on Google Video so you can go there and watch them if you want to put up with all the junk over there. Otherwise… you can watch them here… where it is safe… except for Real Live Preacher… he’s safe too actually… not tame, but safe. :-)

Each clip is 6 minutes as that is how much rlp’s memcard will hold.

The personality of a dry log? That’s impressive. Although, I guess it’s kind of insulting to Angie to suggest that she married someone like a dry log! I’ll have to watch these videos sometime.

Thanks so much for the suggestions and encouragement–I’ll be sure to pass on the name to my sister, but if it goes over anything like my suggestions she might not fully appreciate it!

I’m having a grand time in Romania (maybe I have too much fun at times?), and it really feels like home.

I hope Taiwan is treating your family equally well. Blessings and Peace!
