Here’s a few fun games/websites to occupy you this weekend… maybe it is cold where you live… maybe you need some down time… maybe you need to defend a castle or re-live your childhood Atari Missile Command dreams.
Atari Play – All the Games You Love to Play… Online!
Well… I don’t think that it is ALL the cames you (or I) love to play… but there are some great ones on here! Such as: The afore mentioned Missile Command (the first video game that cost me MAJOR sleep), Asteroids, Centipede, Millipede, Tempest (which still rulez) and more… these aren’t necessarily the versions from your 2600, but they are all classic Atari games.
A few months ago my friend Bart sent me a link to the original Paths game. It was pretty cool, but I lost the link to it. Now, Paths 2 has surfaced. The goal is to use a pencil type object and draw a path from a ball to a goal. You may need to collect a key on the way and you will have to manipulate some barriers as you go. If you like puzzle games… you’ll like this.
Bowmaster 2: Prelude
This is pretty much the Holy Grail of flash games. You’ll want to make sure you have about an hour or so before you start this game. I’ll take the description from the author:
You’re the defence minister of a small kingdom of some very nice people, somewhere in a beautiful mountainous part of the world. The king has been informed of an advancing army and has ordered you to protect the people by protecting the castle.
You have many types of special archers at your disposal, and you must to strategically use them to weaken and destroy the attacking army.
Kill all the soldiers, archers, ogres etc to complete the level and finally defeat the commanding general of the attacking army. Strategy comes in to play and becomes ever important, as the number of soldiers increase, and additional minions of evil seek to destroy your stronghold.
Have some fun with gravity in this one… drag the circles and the platforms to see the effect on the particles. Yeah… that’s it… it is EDUCATIONAL! Actually it is. But it is still fun.
Easy… black is good… red is bad… this looks really simple (and the idea is) but I haven’t caught 200 squares yet… can you?
