I guess this news has been out there for a while, but I just read about it yesterday.
The Parachute Band is one of my favorite bands… they play modern praise & worship… but with a very unique sound. I discovered their music about 4-5 years ago and I think they are special.
Well… they WERE special… the original band has handed over the reigns to 5 youngsters…
I’ve listened to a couple songs on myspace and I think I’ll like this version of the Parachute Band too, but I’ll wait and listen to a full CD and decide.
I don’t yet know why the band has changed like this… but I suspect that the original members had some other ministry interests and wanted to train some new people to minister via Parachute Band.
I’ll miss the old sound because they were exceptional musicians and their passion and love for Jesus was very evident in their songs. I’ve sometimes found that while listening to most praise bands I’m not really worshiping… but that never happens when I listen to the Parachute Band.

i think that the band is really really good.
i saw them here last night in joburg and i’d see them again.
so today, i’m out to buy their cd’s
