Here’s why I like it… I like Jack. And I *love* CTU.
I know his ways are unorthodox and sometimes illegal… but if my family were in danger… you’d better believe I’d be doing all kinds of unorthodox and illegal things (if necessary) to save them… especially from the hands of terrorists.
I know it is just a TV show… but I am glad there is at least one show on that isn’t afraid to call the bad guys the bad guys. And… not to be too political… but it might help some people see why other people believe it is better to fight terrorists where *they* live instead of where *you* live.
Anyway… this is why I’m posting.
Here’s a link to a really informative and interesting story from The New Yorker about the show, its formula, its creators, its politics, its methods, etc… If you like the show, you’ll love reading this as I did. It focuses on the way the show implements torture in its plotlines. It discussed the issue *mostly* fairly, I think.
“Whatever It Takes” by Jane Meyer at The New Yorker
The author also made a video posted on Youtube to go with the story… it is decidedly *less* fair with lots of speculation… but still worth watching if you like 24.
