OINK! – Year of the Pig

March 3rd, 2007 · 1 Comment

Yeah… it was Chinese New Year last week… I’m not exactly the most “on-time” blogger… but I usually get around to it.

I’m a pig… some will just nod in agreement… but others (my mom) will be sad because pigs are stupid and dirty right?

Well… not according to the Chinese! YEA! There are 12 Chinese Zodiac signs… 12 animals and they rotate as king from year to year. Yeah. I know it is complete nonsense… just like Sagittarius and Pisces, etc… but what makes it interesting to me is the difference between what different cultures think about various things… animals, for example.

According to the Chinese zodiac, each animal will have positive and negative traits… here’s the scoop on the pig:

The pig is the picture of purity. He is polite, helpful and scrupulous to a fault, but is easily duped and is constantly losing faith in others (until next time). He is very impartial and therefore is forever wondering what he should do, as he cannot take any sides.

He is fairly intelligent, in spite of everything, though not with money! He does not say much, but when he does you find he has very strong ideas on a lot of things.

Beneath the sweetness of the pig is a desire for good-living, and a sensual nature. He takes a very long time to make a decision, weighing all the pros and cons, but after making up his mind he carries it out through to the end. He has just a few friends who he keeps forever.

The pig can wok on any type of job where his conscientiousness will make him well-liked.

Pigs can’t be too bad… I am one… and I married one!
