I attended Ozark Christian College for 3 semesters in 1990-1991 and again from about 1995-1996. I think I finished my course work in December 1996 and walked in 1997. I’m not really much into academics and I forget these dates. In fact, until about 3 days before my graduation, I was planning on just going to work as usual instead of graduation. Only when I found out that Angie had planned a graduation party and some people were coming in for the ceremony did I decide to go. This lackadasical attitude is mine alone and should not reflect on the fine people at and the institution that is Ozark Christian College.
Anyway… bi-weekly chapel services are a highlight for all OCC students. For some, they are a highlight because of the opportunity to join in corporate worship with fellow students and faculty and hear a (usually) compelling sermon. For others they are a highlight because the chapel services are not compulsory and it is a good time to take a nap or study. I enjoyed chapel for both of these reasons.
I’d like to point you to the OCC Website where you can find archived chapel sermons.
That link will take you to the most recent semester, but you can find a link to the archives on that page and listen to some great sermons from the past few years… although mine from Spring 2004 is not on there. I guess it wasn’t great!
But Seth Wilson said it was great and was the first one out of the bleachers to shake my hand when it was over…
I’ll let you search the archives for yourself… but here are a few that I listened to recently:
Craig Gross XXXchurch.com: Listening to God’s Voice - this message was OK… the website is better
Karl Wendt: I have a friend who struggles with homosexuality - A great message… please… Christians everywhere… please… listen to this one.
Knofel Staton: Death… What then? - I could listen to Knofel all day.
Finally… check it out… TAIWAN’S OWN TED SKILES! Ted preached at International Focus Week and this guy is amazing. I know Ted very well… we’ve shared a few days at a very charasmatic cell church conference in Singapore (neither of us are charasmatic!) so we’ve bonded! Ted talks about Taiwan and the Kingdom of God and God’s plan better than I probably ever will be able to. Ted & Bev run The Home of God’s Love in Lotung, Ilan County, Taiwan.
