I happen to be having a magnificent time here in Taiwan! The food is delicious; my favorite is a breakfast food called danbing. Our host missionaries are unbelievably hospitable; they have four precious kids, Bethanie, Zachary, Joshua, and Mollie. We spent the first few days of our trip hanging out with them, sightseeing, and getting used to the time difference which is exactly twelve hours from Indianapolis. I was incredibly blessed by their ten-year-old daughter, Bethanie. She has such a beautiful heart and the way she sincerely loves her little brothers and sisters has challenged me to love more sincerely. I’ve really enjoyed spending time with their family, and they’ve definitely blessed me more than they know so keep Scott and Angie and their family in your prayers! We’ve been keeping busy with getting to know our teammates and sightseeing Taiwan, which is beautiful. I’ve really been blessed with a team of people who I really enjoy and are continually building me up. The Lord is really growing and stretching me. Another thing I’ve experienced so far is the way the Lord is working on my heart and the hearts of my teammates. The Lord certainly has a lot to teach us these next few weeks! We’ve gotten a couple of outreach opportunities so far and those have been very blessed all around. We still have VBS and Sports and English Camp coming up this month, so please continue to pray for VBS and the little children who have never heard the name Jesus, as well as the junior high and high school students at the Sports and English Camp. Pray that our team would boldly and graciously bring Christ into our conversations with these children. I’m incredibly blessed to be here.

We just heard about this blog site and are so happy to read your personal message. We just talked to your mother and she told us about the site. We are looking forward to seeing you soon.

    hey melisa,
it’s me again derek is staying for the weekend and this evening(7/3/07) we suprised him. he found out that he had an oppurtunity to get up at 7:45 in the morning and shuck corn with us. he was so happy to hear this you should have seen the smile on his face.
The Colvins went to California and just returned two days ago they didn’t go to disney but they did go to universal and Hollywood( Kevin didn’t enjoy Hollywood that much) when they were there they got us a trophy that says the best neighbor award. it is pretty cool. when you get back katie will probably want to tell you all about her trip. so i won’t say any more about that.
i am glad you are enjoying your time in taiwan and that god is blessing you and your group.
love you more than you can imagine and can’t wait till you get back,
    maddie
