I wish this one was mine… but it isn’t. It is from Craig & Karen Thompson.

In their recent newsletter they were sharing about some of the contacts they had made recently. Now… you have to know that Craig and Karen (with teammates Jen and Peter) are making deliberate attempts to ensure that people realize that “the church” is referring to PEOPLE and not a building. So… naturally, their bible studies meet at McDonalds and at coffee shops and college campuses. Brilliant. In fact, “I’m Lovin’ It”.

Another nice introduction came when Craig was meeting with two of them after our meeting at McDonald’s. He was explaining that we want to do church in a simple way that can be easily reproduced and that the people who meet together are more important than the place where they meet when a lady at the next table leaned over and asked if she could join one of our groups. Since then she has come to our party and has started attending our Saturday PM meeting.

It isn’t always like this, of course… but sure is fun when we get to see our theories confirmed out there in the real world.
