Some Good Christian Rock

May 21st, 2008 · 2 Comments

…That I’ve found so far.
There’s so much good stuff out there and I’d love to spend a lifetime listening to it all.
The other day I was just looking at the Cornerstone 2008 lineup and wishing I could go.
GRRR…. OK… calming down…
But anyway…
I discovered Muxtape a while back. It is a really sweet idea. When I [...]

The Last Wisdom Tooth

May 15th, 2008 · No Comments

So today I mourn the loss of my last wisdom tooth.
Surprisingly the emotional pain isn’t as bad as the physical.
The top ones were fairly easy and not so painful… but the bottom teeth are a totally different story.
WOW. THIS. HURTS.
Apparently the lower jawbone (or is there only one jawbone?) is much more dense [...]

Cycling 40km With A Kitten

May 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment

My goal was 40km.

However… [...]

May 12th, 2008 · No Comments

But the most bugs I’ve ever eaten in my life was last Thursday night [...]

Taiwan WWII

May 10th, 2008 · No Comments

Patrick Cowsill has a really interesting post about POWs in Taiwan during WWII. If you remember… Taiwan was under Japanese control until the end of WWII… so the POWs were Allied forces.
Patrick’s grandfather served in the Pacific and writes…
Actually, my grandpa hated the war; he rarely talked about it.
Same with my grandfather, who also served [...]

Freedom…

May 6th, 2008 · 1 Comment

It is only one of the many benefits of homeschooling…
My personal favorite homeschool focused blog is Why Homeschool written by Henry and Janine Cate.
Henry has a nice post up today that is a good reminder of the freedom homeschooling can bring…
Henry says…
One of the more important reasons is homeschooling gives families greater freedom. This freedom [...]

33 years ago on this date…

… my life changed forever…
At the time it meant that I would get fewer stories before bedtime…
Often times it meant no bedtime at all… falling asleep in my clothes in the hallway…
It meant sharing everything I had… parents, toys, house, pets, my books… my world…
When mom went into the hospital to give birth to my [...]
